Bakoven is a small exclusive seaside suburb located just as you leave Camps Bay en route to Llandudno and Hout Bay. This suburb has two very distinctive sides to it – below Victoria Road and above Victoria Road. The houses below Victoria Road are mainly charming seaside bungalows and that area retains an almost village like feel, where neighbours still greet each other and know one another’s business.
Above Victoria Road, Bakoven is very much like the rest of Camps Bay, with which it merges. For all shops, restaurants, bars and other facilities you’ll need to head down the Road (short walk away) to Camps Bay.

Bakoven Sunset used to be a fisherman’s abode, where some of South Africa’s best fishermen would stay when they wanted a weekend close to the sea so that they could catch the precious mounds of lobster and abalone in the early morning. The sea area in front of the villa is now a protected area for those sea creatures, however you still have full majesty of feeling as if you are living on the ocean.

The kitchen in this holiday home is of open-plan style and overlooks the top floor and living room area – the most amazing views can be seen from here. There is a large dining room table that can comfortably seat eight people is positioned just below the exquisite chandeliers.

This villa has come along way and has been renovated many times since its beginnings. The most recent renovation was completed in 2010 by world famous Turkish architect Ali Kemali and the interiors were preciously chosen and managed by revered interior designer, Yelda Bayakatar.

The entire lower level comprises of the master bedroom, which offers a large, comfortable bed next to a gas fireplace, an open plan, oval bath positioned behind the bed where you can enjoy the luxury of relaxing in a hot bubble bath, while admiring the perfect sunset or waking up to the early morning sunrise from the bed. There are patio doors directly in front of the bed, giving guests easy access to the outside pool deck, just meters away from the ocean. The second bedroom is situated on the top floor and offers a double bed with an en-suite shower room. There is also a study room, so that you can have access to the outside world via internet and computer facilities. This room can be converted into a third bedroom, on request only.
