Cape Town Convention Centre expansion plans under way

 

The CTICC is to expand towards Artscape following the signing of a and deal with the provincial government and the city.

The land to be developed lies between Heerengracht and the Media24   building and is being as a parking lot.

Construction is to begin in mid-2013. It is expected to end towards the end of 2015, and to cost around R4.5 billion.

The extension is to virtually double the size of the centre. The building has 55 000m2 of lettable space and the intention is to create a further 49 000m2.
